Just completed discussion with Prof Hanmandlu(guide) and Amioy Kumar(mentor), regarding the final draft of EMT paper; have one conference coming up in July, but i am not quite sure whether to apply there or not; i have seen some discrepancies with the credibility of conference. I will have to confirm some other facts and opinions before applying to the conference. I will be submitting my paper to a conference June itself, as it has already taken much longer than i had anticipated.
Quote that describes my ultimate goal
"The key question to keep asking is, Are you spending your time on the right things? Because time is all you have, and in the end you may find out that you may have less than what you thought"~ Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture

Big Data
Every time a see a new lecture / talk on big data, it seems more and more interesting and more relevant to my current area of interest. It seems it has become an inevitable part of the a system where a database if any sort it involved. I have particularly faced this specific problem with the Eye tracking database, and the idea presented by the talk on Big Data has definitely helped me derive a better perspective about handling data with a large number of data points.

Time Flies
I had earmarked a day completely for research yesterday to wind up all the projects that were lagging behind because i couldn't find proper time amidst so many things happening in my academic sphere. Though i had laid down a target of completing the manuscript, advancing with Eye Tracking problem and musing over Hand Authentication problem, i could only finish with the manuscript part. I tell you researching is a lot easier than actually compiling it into a paper that makes sense. Though i have some minor tweaks to do in the manuscript, it is almost done. As i am a little behind on schedule, i have decided to give half a day tomorrow for the research projects as well. To remind you that though it might seem very stingy of me to devote such little time to the only passion i have, but i have my majors starting this Monday, which are equally important as the undergraduate course i am enrolled to is entirely different to what i love to research on. Actually i feel sometimes that i should be awarded two degrees, one in Instrumentation and Control that i am pursuing at Delhi University, and another in Computer Science that is justified because of the myriad courses i have taken on it through coursera, various research literature and all the projects that are enhancing my vision by actually applying those theoretical concepts.

Update: Just realized how much time i need to give in for this, i have decided to take the project up from tomorrow morning for half the day. I feel my mind would be a lot fresh in the first half of the day.

Research Day:Earmarked
I am amidst my end-sem examinations and practicals i couldn't devote as much time to my research projects as i wanted to. Yesterday was my last practical exam and next theory exam being on 21st May. I have earmarked my complete day today to devote only on research projects. Today, i have to finalize the manuscript on Eye Tracking, do some more experiments on Eye tracking for another project opportunity and work on Hand-vein authentication, specifically to identify hand contours and identify fingertips. This is my goal to be achieved today. Cheers towards the fun-filled research day today.

Google wishes me birthday
As a diurnal routine i logged onto Gmail to check my emails, and i saw three emails from Google Scholar describing about the new researches going on in the field of computer vision, machine learning and eye movement and the latest publications in those realms. I found one paper very interesting and tried and wanted to Google search about the new terms the paper introduced. I typed google.com into my address bar, and this is how it responded.
I love the way how technology is percolating into our daily lives and how the future of human computer interaction will shape up. This surely has its downsides with people not able to remember things that they used to before such an advent of technology, like telephone numbers and birthdays, but its advantages far outweigh its shortcomings.
