A single line "PhD is not about breadth, but depth" by Mor Harchol-Balter, CMU in his article on graduate admissions, brought reminiscence of the day when i had my last presentation at CVIT. I remember presenting the ideas i worked on towards a Gesture Recognition system independent of color. I pristinely remember that Professor Jawahar on that particular day gave just one single piece of advice to me, focus on depth and not breadth. I had some smattering what Professor wanted to convey, but after reading this article today, I am pretty sure what to make out of it. I really commend Professor's advise and hope to learn a lot more than time would allow.
